It’s News Day Tuesday!

presskid by you.

And what a fine Tuesday it is!

Evan Rachel Wood has joined the cast of True Blood for Season Two.

dimension logo

Dimension has already optioned the rights for Sarah Langan’s yet-to-be-published horror novel Audrey’s Door, about a young architect who builds a door that connects to a terrifying other world after battling ghosts in her new apartment.

Zombie’s H2 trailer is finally up.

Fango reports that Kyle Gallner, Kellan Lutz, Thomas Dekker and Rooney Mara are joining Jackie Earle Haley in the new Nightmare on Elm Street. Not a bad cast so far!

Final Destination 2 and FD4: Death Trip 3D director David R. Ellis has been tapped to direct the 3D horror pic Humpty Dumpty about an alien creature on a murderous rampage in the Deep South.

Hugh Jackman talks a bit about the new Wolverine flick. Yay!

Also YAY! Joseph Gordon-Levitt is taking over for James Franco in Christopher Nolan’s Inception. He’ll join the most excellent cast of Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard, Leonard DiCaprio and Ellen Page.

You can find a new, somehow-even-creepier trailer for von Trier’s Antichrist here.

Man, FUCK this news. Universal is remaking Cronenberg’s bizarre masterpiece Videodrome. Shake your fists of fury if you’re with me.

You can see all the new Terminator Salvation TV spots here.

CBS has moved Harper’s Island to Saturday to avoid cancellation. Who cares! I’m still watching it, but not with any enthusiasm or actual interest.

fox atomic

RIP, Fox Atomic. Screen Gems, you alone carry the mantle of a major studio genre label.

Woah. Ridley Scott’s apparently considering a prequel for the Alien franchise. And my ass will totally watch it.

Here‘s an interview with the director of Orphan, Jaume Collet-Serra. Really I just wanted an excuse to post that creepy ass poster again.

Now War of the Worlds is getting the “and Zombies” treatment.

Here‘s some info on director of the excellent Session 9 Brad Anderson’s new horror project,Vanishing on 7th Street. Sounds pretty cool.

bill murray

The already great Zombieland cast is now even more so with the addition of Bill Murray, alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Amber Heard.

I just can’t seem to garner any enthusiasm for this news. Rodriguez is going to make a feature out of the Machete mock trailer in Grindhouse, starring (natch) Danny Trejo. Also he’s “reviving” the Predator franchise. yawn.

You know, I rather liked 30 Days of Night, so I don’t necessarily mind this news of a straight-to-vid sequel.

The Crazies remake has been pushed back to 2010.

You can find a clip for the super cool-looking animated Godkiller, based on Matt Pizzolo’s and Anna Muckracker’s comic book, here.

And finally, the new Fango DVD Chopping List is up.
