I’m kinda over 2010, you guys. So I think I’m going to skip the final News Day Tuesday of 2010 and start afresh with all the news you can use on our first Tuesday of 2011!
In the meantime, it’s the end of the year, and you know what that means! The arbitrary ranking of things! So head on over to Badass Digest for my Top 10 list: The 10 Most Badass Fictional Characters of 2010! It’s super fun, promise. Leave your picks in the comments!
Let me guess: you think Die Hard is the greatest Christmas movie ever. Well, you’re wrong! Head over to my column at Badass Digest to learn why.
Happy holidays, spooks. My gift to all the good boys and girls is plenty of juicy scoop, straight from their blogs to my blog to you!
It’s a Christmas miracle! MGM’s allegedly getting back on its feet, which is good news for the next Bond film, for The Hobbit and oh! oh! For Joss and Drew’s The Cabin in the Woods!
The trailer for Greg Mottola’s Paul, starring the unbeatable duo of Pegg and Frost along with Seth Rogen’s charming voice and every other comedic actor I have ever enjoyed in the past five years, is just totally adorable.
In what sounds like a pretty clever conceit, BSG badass Katee Sackhoff will play the title character in Sexy Evil Genius. Could be great, despite the fact that it will be headed by the showrunner on ABC Fam’s Greek, which is probably not a good show.
Glee‘s resident delightful dumbass Heather Morris confirms that she’s in talks to play Buffy in the ill-advised remake. I still don’t give a shit about this remake, but that’s not bad casting. Continue reading
Everything about this interview confuses me. Jon Favreau is leaving the Iron Man franchise in order to make a Magic Kingdom family film. And that sounds TERRIBLE. But he has such big ideas and so much passion for the project! Usually when someone uses the phrase “family fare,” I flee in terror, but now Favreau’s making Magic Kingdom, Fincher’s making 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Guillermo’s making Haunted Mansion. And I LIKE these directors. I also adore Favreau’s earlier foray into family flicks, Elf, but I’m depressed at the prospect of Iron Man 3 now, when I had such high hopes after Iron Man 2 (reviewed here) for its becoming the trilogy for our generation. Well, at least we have Toy Story.
So…I dunno. I’m all aflutter. Will someone please tell me how to feel about this?
Guys, I have a new column over at Badass Digest! I AM SO EXCITED! My first post is about the similarities of Aronofsky’s Black Swan and the 1998 anime Perfect Blue. CHECK IT OUT and leave a sister a comment, yo!
The Golden Globe nominations have been announced, and they’re all tedious and wrong and stupid, as per yuuzh.
Click here for the ‘splodey and slo-mo heavy Thor trailer. I know this is probably not the intended reaction, but all I got out of this trailer was “Yay! Agent Coulson!!”
