It’s News Day Tuesday!

RIP, Pete Postlethwaite. You were one of the greats.
Javier Bardem and Viggo Mortensen have been mentioned as the potential stars to land the role of Roland Deschain in Ron Howard’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. Team Viggo! You can read my Dream Casting list of the main characters here, the allies of the ka-tet here, and the big baddies of the series here.
The cast is shaping up for Chris Fisher’s adaptation of the Thomas Berger novel Meeting Evil. Luke Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson, Leslie Bibb and Smallville‘s Peyton List have all joined the cast. The novel’s supposed to be wonderful; here’s hoping Chris “S. Darko” Fisher doesn’t screw it up!
You can check out a gallery here for Lucky McKee’s The Woman, reuniting the director with Angela Bettis, the star of his terrific May.
Interesting…Jennifer Lynch’s Hisss, which we heard so much about a year ago, is now no longer Jennifer Lynch’s.
Jodie Foster’s jumped on board for Neill Blomkamp’s follow-up to District 9. Elysium will also star Matt Damon and will probably blow our collective minds.
Phew! Chloe and Clark will still be besties upon her return to Smallville, and Clark will finally start wearing those glasses.
That’s it for this week, kids! Check out the archives for more news and reviews!
