Review: YELLOWBRICKROAD

Posted in Film Review, Horror Movie Review with tags , , on August 18, 2011 by xymarla

YellowBrickRoad caught my interest the moment I saw the eerie trailer, but its theatrical release was limited and I missed it. The film just came out on DVD, and it’s absolutely worth a watch. A confusing, unsettling, frustrating watch.

In preparation of the Smallville premiere for the 10th and final season, airing this Friday on the CW at 8/7 central, you need to do THREE things:

Read my scoop extravaganza for Season 10, just posted over at Watchtower. Next, read my review and episode guide for Season 9. And finally, review the rules for the EPIC Smallville Drinking Game.

Marla Has a Shiny New Blog!

That’s right! Today is the day that I unleash the full magnitude of my geekiness upon the internet! Because…

I’ve started a blog devoted entirely to Smallville! Feast your brains on THIS:

In honor of the 10th and final season, I am no longer able to restrain myself from blogging CONSTANTLY about this show. However,  I don’t want to subject loyal DIH readers to the incessant posts, so instead, I shall only subject you to incessant LINKS to those posts on my new blog!

I’ve already copied my DIH Smallville posts onto Watchtower and I’m going to post tons of new stuff there all the time. So give a sister a hand and check out my welcome post. And if you’re curious about the title, go here.

Holla! Tonight’s the night, my friends! The Season 9 finale for Smallville! This has been a solid season (okay, the Kandorians plot is hella boring. But it’s almost over! Rao willing.) and I’m psyched for what’s sure to be a stellar finale. How do I know?  Because it’s Smallville, suckas! EVERY finale is awesome. EVERY ONE. Even the crappy seasons! All the finales rule except, conversely, Season 8’s, which was in every other respect Smallville’s best season. That was…weird.

But! Season 9! Finale! Sure to be awesome! Here’s some scoop to wet your whistle. Continue reading

Smallville Renewed!

YAY!!! I knew it was just a matter of time considering the stellar Friday night ratings, but I find myself so excited about this news!!

I do hope (and believe) the 10th season will be the final one, as Clark is so close to completing his journey into becoming Superman. And anyway, ten is a lovely, round number, don’t you think?

I have long cherished a dream image of Tom Welling in the series finale, come May 2011, standing on a building in his iconic red cape, staring impassively into the distance, and then shooting off into the sky…roll credits.

Make it so, CW. Make it so.
