You heard it here first, folks! Maybe you noticed the fancy new header? (Please save your oohs and ahhs until the end of the post.) Even more exciting, I’ve restructured the categories! So now they make actual, real sense! And you can use them to find things! In addition to using our search function (search “Frank Langella” and you’ll find every post that refers to him. It’s a very useful tool.), you can always find every archived post organized in an easy way under the Site Index or by perusing the categories on the homepage sidebar. This post will be categorized under “News Day Tuesday,” “Movie News” and “TV News,” for instance. Erin’s SATC2 post will be archived under “Contributor: Erin” and “Film Review.” Tomorrow’s Splice post can be found under “Film Review,” “Horror Movie Review” and “Sci-Fi Movie Review.” (But decidedly not under “A+ Review” which will be saved for those films that earn the highest grade. Alas, Splice hella doesn’t.)

More details regarding the roller coastery Fright Night remake. Yes, the cast is good, but it’s set in…Vegas? What happened to quaint little Everytown, USA? And the Peter Vincent character (originally played by the great Roddy McDowall) will be a Criss Angel type? Uhm ew. I can’t even tell you how excited I was about this movie. A new Martin Scorsese genre flick?! (Dear people on the internet who keep insisting this is Scorsese’s first fright flick: rent Cape Fear. You can thank me later.) The film has a splendid cast, the absolute raddest instrumental soundtrack ever, and oh by the by, it’s directed by MARTIN FUCKING SCORSESE. So what went wrong? Let’s investigate, shall we?

Extra! Extra! Looks like I'm the one who has some words to eat!

 Yes, despite my taunting of Eric Kripke last week,  he actually is sticking with his original plan of ditching Supernatural after five seasons. Next season will bring a new arc and a new showrunner! Not sure how I feel about this; I may just pretend the series ends with this year’s finale.

Supernatural‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Sam Worthington will star in a movie about League City’s I-45 “killing fields,” where as many as 70 bodies have turned up over the years.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, director of the excellent 28 Weeks Later, has a new film out called The Intruders, a fright flick centered around an 11-yr-old girl. No more details yet, but I’m excited!

The new international Tron Legacy poster is out and awesome.

Okay, so I’ve never read nor seen Twilight, and I doubt I will. But this screenplay purports to tell the story of What If Twilight Were Short and Also Made Sense? And that movie? I would watch. Although I probably still wouldn’t read the book.

Need further evidence of the pervasive magic emanating off Robert Downey Jr? This news has me actually interested in a new movie with the word “vampire” in the title! GASP!
